Sports Therapy Massage

Sporting activity can cause muscle tension, stiffness and discomfort.  Massage can help reduce these symptoms and improve performance, prevent injury and speed up recovery time.


Sports massage uses advanced soft tissue techniques and muscle energy techniques to help reduce muscle tension, break down adhesions, realign muscle fibres and improve muscle and joint range of movement. 


It can also increase peripheral blood circulation and promote healing.

 

Strength and conditioning exercises can be prescribed at your massage appointment to help promote flexibility, strength and stability.


Nici can advise you on general fitness or specific training for an event. She has worked with many individual athletes in clinic and provided massage services at a number of sporting events. These include:

  • Hockey Masters National Tournament (2017)

  • Eden Epsom Squash and Tennis Club tournaments (2012)

  • USA Womens Hockey team at the Four Nations Hockey Tournament (2012)

  • Oxfam Trailwalker 100km event in Taupo (2012)

  • Auckland Marathon (2011, 2012 and 2013)

  • Auckland Provincial Rugby Team (2009)
